Day Tour – Wednesday

Date: Wednesday 25 September

Time: 0900, coach departure from Hotel Grand Chancellor, returning by 1800

(EC/AC will be collected from Hotel Grand Chancellor at 1130 following morning meetings)

Coach transfer to the kunanyi/Mt Wellington summit for stunning views of Hobart and southern Tasmania, and weather permitting a short walk at The Springs. Transfer to a catamaran ferry (built by Incat Tasmania https://incat.com.au/ and designed by Chamberlin Marine) for a Derwent River cruise. As we approach Prince of Wales Bay, home to the Incat Tasmania Shipyard, a commentary of Incat’s story will be provided, with a glimpse into the Shipyard from the comfort onboard our ferry. Following an Australian gourmet BBQ lunch, transfer by coach to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to see Tasmania’s wombats, echidna, eastern quolls and Tasmanian devils.

Please wear casual clothing, comfortable shoes for walking, and we recommend layers including a warm jacket/gloves/scarf for your time on the mountain

Lunch plus morning and afternoon refreshments included

In our initial planning of the Wednesday Technical Tour we anticipated taking all delegates for a site tour of the Incat Tasmania Shipyards. The current Incat vessel is at a stage of construction where we can only take a small group onsite so we are required to, with the majority of delegates, share the Incat story and view the Shipyard from the water in the comfort of an Incat built catamaran ferry.
